Sewing Studio
After 5 years of teaching exclusively hand sewing and embroidery at schools, Miss Shannon's Sewing opened up their own studio to teach machine sewing. At the studio children become familiar with a sewing machine. They start by learning how to thread a machine, make a bobbin, and sew straight lines. The first project they sew is a pillow and then move onto a mini quilt, pajama pants, skirts and maybe dresses, rompers and backpacks. Eventually the class turns into tutoring where students get to bring in patterns and projects that they would like to learn. We create an environment where kids are encouraged to be independent but nurtured and encouraged. We truly love teaching sewing.
